<turbo:content><![CDATA[<b>Standard &amp; Poor's international rating agency has determined the outlook on Kapital Bank's rating as "stable"and affirmed it at the level of "BB-/B". This rating is one of the highest among the banks of the country.</b><br><br>According to the agency,over the next year Kapital Bank will be able to withstand the global economic downturn due to the COVID-19 pandemic and decline in oil prices better than its local and international peers, due to adequate capitalization, stable deposit funding, and ample liquidity. In addition, it is noted that Kapital Bank's combined capital and risk position is stronger as well.<br><br>The report says that the KapitalBank's annual growth in loans and deposits will remain at about 10%-15%, which is higher than forecast for the system average of about 5%-10%.It was also stressed that the Bank is planning to focus on increasing digitalization and improving customer service in the period of slower economic activity.<br><br>Kapital Bank, having the biggest branch network in Azerbaijan, is at the service of customers with 101 branches and 15 departments. <turbo:content><![CDATA[<b>The value of euro banknotes in circulation has increased by the largest amount since the 2008 financial crisis, according to new data which indicates many people in Europe have responded to the coronavirus pandemic by hoarding cash, BAKU.NEWS informs with reference to the Financial Times.</b><br><br>In the four weeks to April 10, the value of euro banknotes distributed to individuals and businesses rose by €41.2bn to €1.33tn, the weekly financial statement published by the European Central Bank on Wednesday showed.<br><br>That is the biggest jump in the amount of cash in circulation in the eurozone since it rose by €41.4bn in the four weeks to October 24, 2008 — shortly after Lehman Brothers went bankrupt, causing the global financial system to freeze.<br><br>In some European countries, where cash is still the only way to pay in many shops and cafés, consumers responded to concern about the spread of coronavirus by withdrawing extra cash from ATMs at the start of the pandemic.<br><br>About a third of all cash in circulation is kept by households as a safe asset for “rainy day” purposes, according to a previous ECB study. The increase in demand for banknotes was comparable to the uptick usually seen in the weeks before Christmas, suggesting it was linked to the recent increase in spending on household items, such as toilet paper, pasta, and soap, as many consumers stocked up.<br><br>In research published on Wednesday, Ireland’s central bank reported a sharp fall in ATM withdrawals and bank card transactions after the government directed people to stay indoors last month.<br><br>ATM withdrawals in Ireland were down 57 percent month-on-month in the first week of April after the first coronavirus restrictions were introduced. Card spending was down one-third in the same period. Average ATM withdrawal amounts “increased markedly” since the government announced it was closing schools on March 12, the central bank said.]]></turbo:content>

<turbo:content><![CDATA[<b>Period for submission of declarations and payment of taxes was extended until April 6, BAKU.NEWS informs citing Ministry of Taxes.</b><br><br>The deadline for submission of declarations on profit and property tax of legal entities, income tax of individuals, and payment of taxes was March 31, 2020.<br><br>On March 25, 2020, Azerbaijan's Cabinet of Ministers announced the nonworking days of a particular regime in the country. According to the Cabinet of Mınisters, March 29-April 3 will be days off for the five-day working week, while March 26-March 28 and March 30-April 4 will be nonworking for a six-day labor week.<br><br>Therefore, according to Article #68.2 of the Tax Code, the period for submission of declarations on profit and property tax of legal entities, income tax of individuals, and payment of taxes was extended until April 6. <br>]]></turbo:content>

<turbo:content><![CDATA[<b>According to the 8th item of the Order #1950 of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic about the series of measures related to reduction of negative impact of coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and the sharp fluctuations taking place on the world energy and stock markets due to that pandemic on the economy of the Azerbaijan Republic, macroeconomic stability, employment issues and entrepreneurial entities in the country, the first meeting of the Working Group established under leadership of the chairman of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan was held on March 23, 2020 for development of the list of additional measures aimed at preservation of macroeconomic stability in the country, the Central Bank told BAKU.NEWS.</b><br><br>The meeting was attended by the senior officials of the Central Bank, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population, the State Statistics Committee, the State Oil Fund and the Azerbaijan Banks’ Association.<br><br>The negative impacts of the coronavirus pandemic and the sharp drop in oil price on the macroeconomic stability, especially on foreign sector, on inflation, currency market and fiscal balance, as well as on financial stability, especially on the banking sector were discussed and the exchange of ideas regarding the measures aimed at preservation of macroeconomic and financial stability was conducted at the meeting.<br><br>In the end of the meeting, a decision was taken to intensify the exchange of information between the institutions represented in the Working Group for deeper assessment of the existing situation and based on results of such assessment, to develop in a short time and to submit in relevant manner the proposals about the extra measures that should be implemented for ensuring the macroeconomic and financial stability including the exchange rate and price stability.]]></turbo:content>

This card is the eighth for the number of Miles cards issued so far.
