The Republican Party formally gathered to nominate President Donald Trump as their candidate for the November election, with delegates from states carrying out a formal roll call on Monday.

]]> Twenty-seven years passed from the occupation of Fuzuli and Jabrayil regions.

BAKU.NEWS informs on 23 August 1993, Armenia seized 51 villages and center of Fuzuli district, more than 55,000 inhabitants left their native land. Fuzuli district covers territory from the southeastern slopes of Karabakh Mountain range to Araz River. It is a border with Azerbaijanїs districts of Jabrayil, Agjabadi, Beylagan, and Iran along Araz River.

The Fuzuli region's occupation has caused damage to the economy of Azerbaijan over 5.5 billion manats and the invasion of the Jabrayil region - more than 3 billion manats. As a result of the occupation, properties, and private properties of citizens, historical monuments of Azerbaijan were destroyed. Azykh Cave and 25 historical sites are under the Armenian occupation in Fuzuli. Armenians destroyed and Azykh and Taglar Caves to the world, listed as a cultural monument of antiquity in UNESCO. Natural monuments-centenarians - eastern plane trees destroyed in Fuzuli region, 500 hectares of forest Argunesh burned. Fuzuli is an agricultural district, so damage is estimated in billions of manats.

As a result, the seizure of Jabrayil district, of which territory is 1,050 sq.km, 72 secondary school buildings, eight hospitals, five mosques, two museums, 129 historical monuments, 149 cultural centers left in the occupation.
Armenians also destroyed critical historical monuments, subsoil assets, plentiful water sources in the Jabrayil region, burned forests, and Hcut an-Chinar - the symbol of this region.

In both areas, thousands became martyrs in massive battles. There are eight national heroes in Fuzuli and 6 - in the Jabrayil region.

Currently, IDPs from Fuzuli and Jabrayil districts are housed in more than 50 cities and areas throughout Azerbaijan. They are under state care.

]]> Lieutenant Governor of California Eleni Kounalakis condemned the violence by the radical Armenian dashnaks against peaceful Azerbaijani community members in Los Angeles, BAKU.NEWS informs citing the Consulate General in Los Angeles.

In her Twitter post, she noted: "I was disappointed to learn that a demonstration outside the Azerbaijani Consulate in LA last week turned violent and resulted in injuries. Everyone has a right to express their views peacefully, but there's no place in our state for violence against others."

Azerbaijan's Consul General in Los Angeles Nasimi Aghayev thanked the Lieutenant Governor for her condemnation of this violence against Azerbaijani community members and stated that "Such violence has no place in California or anywhere else."

It should be noted that serving as the 50th lieutenant governor of California since 2019, Eleni Kounalakis is the first woman elected to this office. She previously served as the United States Ambassador to Hungary from 2010 to 2013.

]]> “Resumption of international flights don’t depend just on Azerbaijan”, said Ibrahim Mammadov, head of press service of the Cabinet of Ministers at the press conference organized by the Task Force under the Cabinet of Ministers today, BAKU.NEWS reports.

I. Mammadov said the restriction imposed on entry into and exit from Azerbaijan has been extended until June 15: “If the international flights are resumed, then we should have a mechanism of mutual recognition of the documents related to passing through coronavirus test issued by other countries. In other words, the person having passed quarantine in Azerbaijan wouldn’t have to pass quarantine again in Turkey. This is an important point regarding the return from other countries to Azerbaijan".

I.Mammadov also noted that on May 27, 124 people were brought to Azerbaijan from Moscow by a charter flight.

]]> The Cabinet of Ministers has made a decision “about requirements related to use of personal equipment protecting breathing passages during special quarantine regime”, BAKU.NEWS reports.

According to the decision, in order to prevent massive spread among population of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) infection on the territory of the Azerbaijan Republic, the personal equipment protecting respiratory passages (medical mask, fabric mask, respirator, etc.) should be used in the following cases upon condition of observation of social distancing (1.5-2 meters distance between people):

- in transportation means used in passenger transportation intercities (interregions) or intracity (intraregion) (bus, taxi, metro, railway, etc);
- in markets, closed public catering and service facilities (excluding the cases, on which it is necessary to remove individual means, protecting respiratory system depending on the kind of service, delivered in the facility);
- in the field of receive of citizens in state bodies’ buildings and sectors, considered for service to citizens;
- in the parts of buildings, belonging to physical and legal entities, which have been considered for service to customers;
- at open-air offices and production sites;
-  at enclosed spaces considered historical and cultural monuments, praying venues, science and health institutions, social, cultural and other similar enclosed facilities;
- at public transport stop bays, in the queue in front of ticket issuing offices, bank (ATM) machines and payment terminals, trade, work and service facilities;
- at public places in the open air where people gather and come in close contact and in other cases when the observation of social distancing between the people is not possible.

By analyzing the worldwide situation connected with COVID-19 pandemic, the restriction imposed on entry into and exit from the territory of the Azerbaijan Republic via land and air ways except for cargo transportations and charter flights has been extended until June 15, 2020.
