The congress of the Azerbaijan Alpagut Federation (the representative of the World Alpagut Federation in Azerbaijan) was held.
At the event organized at the Ataturk Center, a moment of silence was observed in memory of the fallen heroes who fought for the independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
A new Board of the Azerbaijan Alpagut Federation (AAF) was formed at the congress, and elections for the federation’s president were held. According to the voting results, in which all branch and club leaders, coaches, referees, and athletes aged 18 and over participated, the Board members elected were Rafik Gasimov, Kenan Guliyev, Kabil Guseynov, Elsever Puri, Jafar Jafarov, Emil Rahimov, Vasif Namazov, and Fuad Guliyev. Nizami Agayev was elected Chairman of the Board, and Ali Gadzhiev became the Chairman of the Control and Audit Commission. Furthermore, based on the results of the General Assembly’s vote, Fuad Guliyev was unanimously elected as the new president of AAF.
In his speech, he stated that he would do everything possible to accelerate the development of Alpagut-Turan as a martial art.
Guests at the congress included: Vice President of the World Alpagut Federation Tural Abbasguliyev, Head of Advertising and Marketing Firuze Iskenderova, Board Member Farid Aliyev, and President of WFA, Deputy Milyat Dzhalahmedova.
The President of WFA, Dzhalahmedova, highlighted the conditions created for sports in our country and the special attention of President Ilham Aliyev to sports, expressing wishes for success to the new leadership of the Azerbaijan Alpagut Federation.
It is worth noting that the World Alpagut Federation is an international organization founded in 2014 with the aim of developing the national sport of Alpagut. The federation has official representations, clubs, and federations in 57 countries, including Azerbaijan. It is a member of well-known international sports associations such as IMGC, Fair-Play, ICSSPE, ISNO, GAWSF, and TAFISA. The World Alpagut Federation has been published in the Yearbook of International Organizations, published by the Union of International Associations, and registered in the International Standard Name Identifier (ISNI).
